Can add a caveat “no” because I already had covid?
With approximately 70% of the town already infected, the poll won’t otherwise be very meaningful.
Thanks
It’s important to be aware that prior infection will most likely not protect against the South African strain.
It’s also important to be aware that some people who were infected in March are now becoming reinfected – natural immunity is probably not very long-term.
Those who are high-risk (and others) should take these factors into account when deciding whether to get vaccinated.
The vaccine wont protect against the south african strain either…
It is HIGHLY effective and even in the cases where people have gotten in, it is overwhelmingly asymptomatic and of those severe cases it was mostly in the elderly.
Obviously it’s early, but thus so far has been said in Israel, Brazil and South Africa
Yes, it will protect against the S. African strain.
Moshe, that may be true if you had it within the last few months but having it a year ago cannot necessarily protect you (ask the local doctors and they will confirm that they have repeat infections). It is also questionable what level of protection having the original strain will have against the ones beginning to circulate now.
It is also questionable what level of protection the vaccine will give and how long immunity from the shot will last.
According to a recent poll, 15% of people who were asked to respond to a poll questionnaire, responded, while 60% did not respond. 11% were not sure if they would respond, while 20% said there was a 25% chance they would respond and a 35% chance they wouldn’t respond and a 45% chance, that within the next 6 months, they would know for certain if they plan on responding. The aforementioned poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 97 points.
None of the re-infectionists were having any symptoms. They were just tested by chance for wtvr reason (travel, contact tracing).
Can’t see why a covid-healed person should run vaccinate when they’re probably immune anyway. At least wait until we hear otherwise.
