Lakewood police this morning are staging at various intersections this morning to assist with traffic, Chief Greg Meyer confirms.
The intersections being manned are those determined by police to be the busiest during the morning rush hours.
The police presence is expected until the busing process is sorted out and carpooling ends.

A suggestion would be Chestnut and New Hampshire. The traffic here is insane. There is a cop at the fire department a few feet away but he’s not assisting traffic.. he’s chatting with another car.

What are they going to do?they will only cause a distraction and slow traffic down!
Starting Thursday we will be having staging areas around town where Parents could bring their kids with bikes and we will have routs to many schools. Kids will bike to school with a chaperone and hopefully that will resolve the bussing issue very quickly

Thank you to the cops and whoever arranged it. I saw a difference in traffic today, and it was a bit easier getting around.
You can not have every officer sitting at every intersection its virtually impossible. We still need officers to run calls and answer crash calls since Lakewood is like bumper cars every day.

Sorry to place a cop at the 4 way stop on vine and oak was a disaster – it was much better without the cop there.

Why not farm out some straight direct routes from nj transit, monsey tour, kids get on and ring bell when time to get off. All schools

the cop on hope and miller definitely cleared up miller but instead hope was crazy.
