The incident occurred at about 7:26 PM on Sunday evening, at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard, at Clifton Avenue.

Witnesses say the 17 year old girl was about two steps into the crosswalk northbound when she was struck by the vehicle traveling eastbound. The vehicle then fled the scene Eastbound on Kennedy Boulevard.

  1. I pray the girl will recover. It is sad when someone runs away after a horrific thing that they did. I pray they catch the person and they get there punishment.

  2. the driver didnt even know he hit anyone as there ARE NO LIGHTS ON THESE STREETS TO SEE ANYONE AND PEOPLE DON’T WERE THE REFLECTORS WHEN THE SHOULD !

  3. will this tragic event be enough to alert ALL of us to start wearing refelectors & take it serious when others (experienced & rabbonim etc…) tell us to for our sake & not for their.

i.e. people care for us & for each other, BUT they can’t do anything if we don’t do our hishtadlus (part) in preventing these things from happening again C”V. in this case its REFLECTORS ASAP.

lets change our ways & start listening before it happens again & we all feel sorry for the person-as we feel now-, wishing we had listened C”V

everyone is wished a gitten Vinter

  4. to #3, Dave…How can you say the driver didn’t know he hit someone? Were you in the car with the driver or are you the driver? No matter how dark it is if you hit something with your vehicle you are going to feel it. Dont blame it on the lights or the reflectors, this driver is reckless and careless.

  5. Very well said #6 Rachel, I’d stake alot of money that #3 Dave was the driver. Even if the driver was on a cell phone. not paying attention, you would feel an impact of any object you strike.

  6. This is not to be believed. How can someone live with themselves knowing what they did. There is no excuse for this.

The person must be found and brought to justice.

  7. the corner where she got hit is very lit up. The driver is wrong in every way. As far as reflectors go I believe everyone walking at night should wear one. I also believe if there is a sidewalk available they should use them even on sat.

  8. Some of these people in Lakewood are always on their phones and in such a hurry to go nowhere when driving. They need to put the phones down and concentrate on their driving and slow down, maybe then some of these accidents would’nt happen ! Someones life should not depend on a stupid phone conversation!!!!!

  9. MAY THE YOU GIRL BE OK! AND THERE SEEMS TO BE ALOT OF HIT AND RUNS IN TOWNSHIP! WHAT IS AMAZING TO ME HOW THEY GO TO A COLD CASE FILE SO QUICKLY! MY SON DIED BY A HIT AND RU DRIVER ON A WELL LIT STREET!, THE TOWNSHIP BECAUSE OF WHERE IT. HAPPENED DID NOTHING THE DIDN’T EVEN ASK THE CMMUNITY FOR HELP! THE

  10. My daughter-in-law was rear ended yesterday by a doctor who was on his cell phone. Did a lot of damage to the rear of her car. Thank God her one-year-old twins weren’t in the car at the time.

  11. This person should know that they will never be able to get away with it! They only need one slip of the tongue or for you neighbor to notice front end damage or when you go get it repaired they’ll call it in to the police….No place to hide. I hope the young lady is doing well. I also think that #3 Dave should be investigated!
