It was a busy day Friday for Lakewood Police, and very overwhelming. In the duration of about 2 hours, police were dealing with and armed robbery, a robbery on Miller road and a multi-vehicle hit and run accident. As first reported here, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to an armed robbery on Kennedy Boulevard. The incident remains under investigation by the LPD and CIU.
Shortly afterwards, as initially reported on our News Alerts, a man was robbed on Miller Road.
Sources say, a man was approached by 4 Hispanic males and was put into a headlock before being robbed of $450 in cash and his ID. The men remain at large.
A short time after that, while multiple officers were investigating those crimes, police responded to a 4 vehicle MVA on New Hampshire Avenue, where at least two parties fled the scene (as reported on our News Alerts).
EMS members responding to the scene spotted the two men several blocks away, and alerted police. The suspects were subsequently apprehended and arrested by police.
The injured were transported by EMS to local hospitals. TLS-60/TLS-CCP/TLS-00
so happy who caught the pple who tried running away from the accident. serves them right.
Time to get out the Bow and Arrows for protection.
Sounds like some of the less successful day laborers have found a new vocation
Why was he carrying so much money, $450 is a awful lot of pocket change. I never carry more then $100, usually only $50 though. He may have been known to carry large amounts of cash and was targeted for it, thats why i carry very little cash around and advise others to do the same.
thats really stupid, #4. theres a million reasons why he coulve been carrying cash. maybe he was collecting tzadaka, paying a bill, just came from the bank, going to the bank, going to lend someone the money, just got paid… the possibilities are endless
