Police On The Lookout For Driver Who Attempted To Entice Child Into Vehicle

Police this morning are on the lookout for a driver who may have attempted to abduct a child. The incident occurred at about 9PM last night in the Arbutus Drive/Iris Road area when a white or Hispanic male allegedly approached a juvenile and may have attempted to entice him into the vehicle. Police say the driver allegedly told the juvenile that he’d like to show him something.

The vehicle was described as a gold Toyota Camry.

Members of the Department’s Street Crimes Unit also responded, but the suspect was not located.

  1. Mr. Conservative, even if he is a juvenile, what not to say that he was going to the neighbor’s house to get something and he lives 2 doors down from his own home, whats the difference, this could have been so much worse,

  2. Mr conservative its Lakewood the other day there was a girl on the corner or Rt.9 and 6th st all by her self she was only about 3-4 years old. Good parenting.

  3. Mr. Conservative, please do not jump in the lake. I wish you and your family a happy sweet new year.

I also wish the great men and women of the Lakewood Police Department, the Fire Department, and the Lakewood Public Works Department, and their families, and the entire Lakewood, a happy sweet new year.

  4. Sorry, but in a town with active gang members, illegals, and rampant street crime- my child wouldn’t be past the front steps of my home after dark- let alone at 9pm ON A SCHOOL NIGHT!! So you can wish me to jump in a lake, off a bridge, or in front of a bus, but that still doesn’t cover that fact that some parent are to careless with their children. You can’t deflect attention from your self, by telling me to go away.

PS: thank you YID for the warm wishes! The same to you, and all the fine men & women of LPD, LFD, LFA, etc.

  5. Maybe the kid was hitchhiking and the guy pulled over to give him a ride. I can’t tell you how many times I get the thumb a day, and I’m a non-Jewish woman. I’m going to pull over one day just to see the look on their face…
