“The investigation has revealed that the suspect(s) entered their home through a garage window sometime around midnight on August 29th,” Police said. “A short time later, the couple was confronted by the intruder who demanded money. During the course of the robbery, he assaulted both husband and wife, possibly with a flashlight. The cowardly act resulted in significant head injuries which required further medical evaluation and treatment at a local trauma hospital.”
As earlier reported, the suspect then fled in Mr. Robison’s vehicle, which was quickly located by responding patrol units in the Highpoint Condominium Complex.
“The Lakewood Police Department did execute a search warrant at the couples home in order to give us the legal authority to maintain possession and control of the premise so that we could have access in order to assist in any of the leads we investigated thus far. We released the home back to the family yesterday around 3pm.”
“This investigation is extensive and we are following down all leads to exhaustion with assistance and resources from the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, Ocean County Sherriff’s Dept, New Jersey State Police, The United States Marshal’s Office, as well as access to the FBI.”
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Det. Eric Ciccerello at 732-363-0200 or Det. Lindsay Woodfield at the Ocean County Prosecutors Office at 732-929-2027.
The Robison’s, their family, and all the hardworking investigators are in the prayers of all Lakewood residents.
this should be wake-up call to all of us to make sure that our premises and vehicles are always locked. we all wish a speedy recovery to the family, both physically and emotionally. we wish patience and wisdom to the police as they go about their business of solving this disgusting crime
Any sane person knows this wasnt a robbery.
Why do you say that? It could have easily been a drugged up guy.
any news???
Since I heard about this home invasion, there has been no doubt in my mind that this couple was targeted. I am sure that the perpetrator must have left some DNA evidence either at the home, on his victims, or in the stolen vehicle. Surely there must be some surveillance cameras in the area of the invasion— or certainly at Highpoint.
Sometimes, the difficulty is to get a search warrant…
