  1. I think lakewood police needs to get with the program and establish a

1 – K9 team which will respond as needed in a timely manner

2 – auxiliary police which will help out with traffic control Ex. By a accident scene there are multiple police directing traffic that is not needed they will act like fire police

3 – civilian review board which will bring accountability to the dept and will discipline the few rotten apples in the force

4 – create a “real” office of emergency management that will operate independently from the police dept with the goals of dealing with emergency situation and preparedness, and collaborating with “all” agencies and organizations in town

  2. Lakewood doesent need k-9 police. becouse its a place of toira. And the toira is the best security. To be secured just learn tora. And be happy & always go around with a smile

  3. if any place needs a k9 unit, it is definitely lakewood, especially with the rise in crime. dogs are very intelligent animals and have an extremely keen sense of smell, they are often used to track people down.they can easily outrun humans , attack on command, thus aiding police officers in the apprehension of suspects. they also make great home & human protectors and offer unconditional love and companionship.no thief wants to go into a house or construction site left unattended ( a lot of people steal copper wiring for money) when there is a dog around.

  4. #6 you are right on but there is to much its all about my control in the police department for this to happen.. Look at OEM all these people running around but it is never used or planned. I bet this is because favorites get played and this is how things get hidden. Use the Fire Police for more, Use EMS specialties more. If people really looked, I bet you would be amazed at what could be done with what is already being paid for
