  1. How About letting Children jump and stand and toss things off the bus while it is moving ohh and some of the busses should be checked by the State Police Who as well Check Tractor Trailors and Commercial Truck’s How About The Busses we pay all this money for the CHILDREN TO BE SAFE ON THEM

  2. what we need is a major ticket for failing to appear or being late for 1/2 hour. Why is the bus compnay being paid without delivering the service. This is violation of Sarbanes–Oxley Act. You cannot pay without getting deliverables.

  3. When the government decides which bus company your school uses, this is the kind of service we will get. No one cares.

Could you imagine if each school was free to hire their own bus companies?? There would not be these problems, because those bus companies would be fired the next day.

Just a taste of what will be when ObamaCare is fully implemented and the government will decide which doctor you may use.

When the doctor keeps you waiting for five hours for an ear infection, you will not have the choice of simply using another doctor. You see, the government decides for you.

Government at work……. (instead of the private sector)

  4. What! no speeding tickets??? I just tired to back into my driveway, I had plenty of room. The (moderated) bus was traveling so fast it was on top of me in no time and made no attempt to yield to me, instead he blew his horn excessively. This bus was more than 400′ away from me when i attempted my turn. Maybe the sting could include some of the back roads where there arent as many other vehicles and they do hit high speeds like Cross St. James St. Lakewood-New Egypt Rd. etc.

  5. talking about busses speeding….how about the (moderated) that run right by red lights when children are going on and off the bus…..where are the cops when they speed right by the busses.

  6. Need a hotline where u can call in to complain about unsafety bus driver on the SPOT, so driver can be stopped and punished asap.
Remember , driver has children on his watch. Not looking to give out tix to every driver , but at least police can have a record of the driver, and if there are so many complaints against Driver than should be tickted and fired. Not all drivers are reckless, but at least we will get bad ones off the road.

  7. Seems like someone has an agenda against one of the bus company’s first they make motions. When they try to get it all together they try to take the busses of the road.Sounds like collusion to me.

  8. What do you people want…first you complain that the police aren’t doing enough about these reckless bus drivers…then when they do, you’re complaining because your kids were picked up late for school, because they were stopped and issued tickets for doing the very things you were complaining about!!! Can’t have it both ways people! Good job and thank you, Lakewood PD… Keep up the good work and be safe out there!

  9. something has to be done here. it’s great that they got tickets, but it may not be enough. children are getting on these buses and we can’t rely on their safety if this is how bus drivers will continue to be. if bus drivers are gonna keep getting tickets like this, then they should be fired. no bus driver should be driving these kids to school unless they give full responsibility and make sure these kids are safe. we do not want to see anything happen to the kids.

  10. Next time they decide to stop the busses in route maybe they can put out an announcement or so,on kol berumah letting parents know that they should stop standing outside bec the busses aren’t coming.

  11. The most important thing to remember is that the LPD did this to improve the safety of the school bus drivers. These drivers drive our children and if it saves the life of a child I don’t think anyone would mind waiting an extra 15 min for the bus.

  12. So I had to drive my daughter to school this morning because my driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Frankly I don’t care if he was or not because it has no impact on safety. Maybe the busses drive in a hurry because they have impossible schedules due to the crazy traffic and inadequate infrastructure in town. I think there are a lot more of us talking on cell phones, than the bus drivers. Maybe target those who talk on cell phones (almost half of those driving real slow/erratically), abrupt turning without signaling, failing to stay to the left when waiting to make a left turn, abrupt u turns all over town, failing to yield to cars that have right of way, the list goes on. Its silly to point to the bus drivers and be smug about ourselves. Maybe the police should have a massive crackdown on all these practices (warnings only) and this would clean up the traffic flow so the busses won’t have to drive like mishugoyim! Let’s be honest.

  13. STOP WHINING already. If the police do their job, people complain, if they don’t do the job, people complain. You can’t have it both ways.

If the buses are not picking up your children take them to school. Everybody wants someone else to do their job for them on this site.

Use the time that you spend whining about the people who protect you and your families and say something positive about them because with the local police we would all be in trouble.

I personally want to thank every police office here in Lakewood and every where else for doing the job that I would not want to do.

Baruch Hashem, may God which over each and everyone of them and return them home to their families safely.

  14. To: Info Guy…Well said! I was reading through the comments and they were ALL complaints. Your comment was exactly what I was going to write. Give them a break..You can’t have it both ways. Good job LPD. I saw one of the buses get pulled over this morning.. and it was a company I never heard of before. Lakewood has some of the most dangerous drivers.. time to do something about it.

  15. I know its the Law to have seatbelts on and the children should be buckled up at all times!!!! Then why are the kids not forced to wear the seatbelts on the bus. As a bus driver we are not allowed to make them buckle up. On my bus my kids are not allowed to stand and i make sure they dont. Its not right that if i dont wanna wear a seatbelt i shouldnt have to after 15 years of driving this is my first ticket.
I think cause of everything going on with bus companys that they are gonna pick over the littlest things now and i dont think thats right.

  16. #29 “Driver”, suppose, G-d forbid you have to suddenly stop or swerve and crack your ribs on that hard steering wheel or G-d forbid your head hits the windshield, you lose control of the aluminum foil “bus” with 45 kids on it? If you wore your seatbelt….. The safest thing in active use on these buses is the yellow paint.

#26 “anon” You maybe should be called “May Bee” with so many maybe the LPD should do this to these and maybe they should do that to those. They should fine (not warn) every moving violation for the safety of the entire K’hal. These violations are a danger and suddenly terrorize children, pedestrians and other drivers.

  17. People are on here complaining when they should be thankful when it comes to the safety of your children. Parents, please teach your children how to behave on a bus as well and it may make the bus drivers job a little easier and less stressful.

  18. Its nice to see LPD doing there job. But they targated buses, thats profiling! THATS LIKE STOPPING EVERY BLACK DRIVER OR EVERY JEWISH DRIVER. NOT RIGHT!!!!! IT would help BUS DRIVERS if they would get out there and enforce the entire community with PARKING VOILATIONS, YOU CANT GET through half the streets in lakewood because of the way they park all over, need to clean in front of there houses with snow removeal so the kids and people DONT HAVE TO WALK IN THE STREET. IF they enforced the parking Laws AND snow removel Laws there would be enough revenue that no one would have to pay TAXES!!!!!! PARKING IN THIS TOWN IS OUT OF CONTROL . DONT SEE THEM OUT ENFORCEING THIS!!!!!!! OR THE MOTORING PUBLIC, WITH SEATBELTS, AND CELL PHONES!!!! ENFORCE THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY , NOT JUST THE BUSES !! AND PARENTS OF ALL CHILDREN PLEASE TEACH YOUR CHILD THE IMPORTANCE OF SITTING DOWN ON THE BUSES AND USEING THERE SEATBELTS , DRIVERS WOULD NOT HAVE TO TELL THEM TO SIT DOWN A 100 TIMES A DAY EVERYDAY !!! THEN DRIVERS CAN KEEP THERE EYES ON THE ROAD AND DRIVE MORE SAFELY . THANK YOU A GOOD BUS DRIVER FOR MANY YEARS!!

  19. #29- How hard is it to put a seatbelt on. Maybe the students don’t put their seatbelts on because they see you don’t have yours on. Lead by example, and stop crying. You state you haven’t received a ticket in 15 years. Well, you were lucky in 15 years. Tell the students, you’re not moving the bus until everyone has their seatbelt on. How hard is that to do. You’re the adult, and you chose to be a bus driver. If you can’t show authority, go find another job.

  20. OMG I can’t believe what I just read regarding these comments. Yes, granted there are some very bad bus drivers out there that should be taken off the road, but the majority of us are extremely competent and capable of doing our jobs on the streets in Lakewood. Maybe the LPD should do a sting on the citizens of Lakewood, there would be noone left on the roads. However, there is not enough police officers on the force to do this, since 99.9% of the population would be pulled over and that would make our job that much easier. You are the worse drivers I have ever seen, talking on cell phones, taking care of your many kids, not using your directional signals, your cars
being held together with duct tape and clear shipping tape, give me a break. AND NOT STOPPING FOR SCHOOL BUSES WITH THEIR RED LIGHTS ON AND STOP SIGN OUT, YOU JUST SPEED RIGHT BY US….. If you are so concerned about your children you would respect a stopped school bus. As for why we need to angle our bus the reason being is; just as I stated YOU DO NOT STOP………. I will not have a tragedy on my watch, so if that is the only way to prevent it, so be it. Also, the kids do not sit down, act like they are in a gym, instead of a school bus. We can enforce the rules and regulations, but we cannot force them to buckle up and behave. In my opinion and I am sure of many, the learning how to act and respect for others begins at home and not by the school bus driver or the teacher, you are failing at your duties as a parent. One last note, people that live in glass houses, should not throw stones.

  21. I almost got killed by a bus not stopping before making a right on red yesterday. Then I brighted and honked him, and he had the nerve to open his window and give me the finger. Hurray for government bussing!

  22. Its the LAW that children are to wear there seatbelts, But as STATED IN STATE GUIDELINES DRIVERS CANNOT ENFORCE THEM TO, READ UP !!!GOVERMENT BUSSEING WHAT THE H— IS THAT ? YOU HAVE PRIVATE CONTRACTORS AND YOU HAVE BOE DRIVERS, BUT GUESS WHAT WE ALL HAVE TO FOLLOW THE SAME LAWS ,CARRY THE SAME LICENSE, AND HAVE FINGERPRINTING FOR BACK GROUND CHECKS ( MEANING CRIMINAL HISTORY ) AND PHYSICALS . BOE DRIVERS ARE NO BETTER OR NO WORSE THEN OUR CONTRACTED DRIVERS !!!!! THERE ARE GOOD AND BAD IN EVERY COMPANY NO MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM . GOOD THING WE DRIVE THOSE BIG YELLOW THINGS AND YOU ALL CAN SEE US!!!!

  23. To BUS DRIVER says:
” BOE DRIVERS ARE NO BETTER OR NO WORSE THEN OUR CONTRACTED DRIVERS !!!!! THERE ARE GOOD AND BAD IN EVERY COMPANY NO MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM . GOOD THING WE DRIVE THOSE BIG YELLOW THINGS AND YOU ALL CAN SEE US!!!!”
    very valid point

  24. To ‘Bus Driver’: Do you think people will look at your comment and say to themselves, “Oh, he must be correct. After all, he typed his opinion in all capital letters”? Not likely.

  25. #38 Like i said you cant force them to put seatbelts on. Weather i was wearing one or not they still wont do it, What about the other drivers that do wear their seatbelts and you see kids jumping from seat to seat on the bus at least my kids dont stand on my bus i think that proves i do have authority!!!!!

  26. #41 EXTREMELY WELL SAID!!!!! What is this bash the bus driver week?
#42 we can only tell the children to buckle up, we can not force them to do it.

  27. It’s great to hear from the Bus Driver’s perspective. I understand your passion on the subject of the idiotic, self empowered drivers in Lakewood, but I think the profiling idea is a bit paranoid. I can understand that paranoia because you have be constantly on the watch for all the dangerous dimwits that lurch, lunge and linger. Every school shoud demerit any kid who does not wear a seat belt, stands or otherwise monkeys around on the bus. The last five minutes of classes should give warnings to the kids and give each child a weekly slip that the kid has to bring in, stamped by the matron or bus driver. If the driver cannot enforce Derech Eretz the school certainly and should as part of basic Chinuch. This is a Sakana issue, Mechanchim take note!

  28. well said #39 , it begins at home and if the parents drive like lunatics they can’t expect the kids to behave. you can’t have it both ways. T
he parking situation in lakewood which reminds me more of new york is pathectic and shameful. the residents drive like there’s an emergency all the time, it’s obvious that they not only don’t care about themselves or their children but other’s as well.they have the nerve to blame bus drivers for speeding or being late.

it’s clear that in lakewood there exist a double standard when it comes to rules of the road.

as for the lakewood police, lets do a sting on the other drivers not the bus drivers who are true professionals. do real police work and go harass gang members, go bust their chops and stop them when you see them. most of them carry weapons so i’m sure you won’t be disappointed. don’t pick on bus drivers. we don’t don’t shoot cops!!!!!!!!!!

  29. To # 49 Rabbi Ralph Kramden Well SAID , THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR , Someone FINALLY GETS IT!!!! I been saying all along it would be a great HELP to us BUS DRIVERS if and when the SCHOOLS WILL GET INVOLVED, WE ALL must make sure of the importance of THE SAFTY RULES ON SCHOOL BUSES, CHILDREN ALL AGES MUST SIT DOWN PERIOD ,SCHOOLS SHOULD START ZERO TOLERANCE , AND ENFORCE THIS ON THE BUSES,when bus returns to school for kids not listening or standing, fighting, they should do something about it .NOT GET ON BUS AND SAY HASHEEM IS WATCHING!!!!

  30. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS BOARD OF ED DRIVERS. ALL DRIVERS ARE CONTRACTED. YES BOARD OF ED DRIVERS WERE BACK IN THE 70s WHEN THEY HAD THERE OWN BUSES. IF #44 IS A BUS DRIVER HOW CAN SHE/HE CONSIDER THEMSELF AS A BOARD OF ED DRIVER….DAH

  31. “#52 then we would NEVER move and that will give the parents something else to complain about.”
and I would have to say to them TO BAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
