Police Investigating Multiple Home Burglaries

burglarPolice are investigating the break-ins to several residences which occurred over night in the area of Glen Avenue. Several of the homes had the screens removed from rear windows and entered the unlocked windows, and at least one of the entries was made through an unlocked door, sources say.

Most of the homes had wallets and pocketbooks stolen.

The CIU is investigating. TLS-CCP/TLS-51

Yes. Please turn on outside lights, close shades and drapes, and above all – LOCK DOORS and WINDOWS. 95+% of all burglaries are NFE – No Forced Entry. They just walk in accepting your open invitation.

when people will get hurt or worse… I always lock my doors/windows but I have acquaintances that dont and their attitude is I dont own anything valuable enough to bother.

  3. i dont get it after what happened in israel over shabbos ( and i never said they left their window unlocked) why would you not make sure you lock every door and window why would you want any stranger in your house. there are crazy people everywhere

  4. a good alarm & I fo not mean a free just to get the monitoring alarm is needed. u need that more thanva granite top on your kitchen!

  5. unlocked windows and doors. people please please remember to keep your doors and windows locked at all times. even if you think you may not get robbed just because you’re living in a jewish community doesn’t mean it won’t happen. your safety is your number one concern for you and your family. make sure all windows are locked and make sure none of your locks are broken. if they are broken, get them fixed immediately. better to be safe than sorry.

  6. to #6 Why is it so hard for people to lock windows and doors?

Laziness-sadly-became normal today. with everyone looking to get things express over the internet & get their food delivered for free etc… THIS is just ONE of the habits that is destroying Klal yisroel as each person pushes things off to the next day or month… to the point that people are willing to take a risk-by leaving their doors & windows open-just so i don’t have to go lock everything. (which takes 2 minutes)

LAZINESS DESTROYS A PERSON. destroy that snooze button from your alarm clock or else your going to be lazy with everything from
A-Z (ex. o boy now i need to go shopping. now i need to go pick up my child from playgroup etc…)

  7. the old serial burglar -is he still raoming the streets? Why don’t they just take him in again. chances are, once a serial burglar always a serial burglar. Waht are they waiting for? last time around he had a knife!

  8. People would rather get a gun and blow people away, than lock the doors and windows. Go figure. Invite them into your homes via unlocked windows and you get the chance to shoot them. It works for me.

  9. This past summer on Friday night I had a break in….yes I locked my doors and all my lights were on however the burglar found a ladder under my neighbors porch and climbed thru a window way above ground level

  10. #12 “Invite them into your homes via unlocked”

CORRECTION: just because my doors and windows are open, isnt an invitation. Get this, you enter my home- you die. plain and simple.

BUT TO LEAVE YOUR HOUSE OPEN, IS ASKING FOR TROUBLE IN LAKEWOOD. ITS ASKING FOR TROUBLE BUT ITS CERTAINLY NOT AN INVITATION!!
