Police Investigating Anti-Semitic Incident in Lakewood

The Lakewood Police Department is investigating an anti-Semitic incident that occurred in Lakewood.

A young woman tells TLS she was walking on Central Avenue in Lakewood at approximately 9:00 PM when a large white SUV slowed down right beside her.

“Several teenage boys stuck their heads out the window and screamed “Heil Hitler” and then sped off,” she said.

“A special thank you to the responding police officer who handled the situation with kindness and professionalism and took it very seriously as he launched an investigation,” she said.

  1. Who hasn’t experienced this sometime in their life. As a Jew unfortunately it’d part of life. I bet if TLS would put up a poll asking who has experienced an anti Semitic incident 99% of people would say yes. Now the question is how do you respond to such a situation. Do you walk away and ignore it and be stepped on. So giving the attacker pleasure, and courage to do it again. Or do you stand up for our selves and show them that us Jews are not dirt and we have a back bone. We will and can not tolerate this anymore.
For too long people think and say don’t say anything walk away don’t make a Chillel Hashem. This is 100% wrong. We have to start standing up for our selves things are only getting worse out there. The longer we are quiet the more powerful they feel. It not q Chillel Hashem to have a back bone and respond back. If anything it’s the opposite your showing them that we are weak. We must change before its too late.

    • Very bad idea.
“stand up for yourself” sure. But why does that mean engage with these types of people?
You think you gain respect by “fighting back”?! That is what you call “standing up for yourself”? That is a big mistake.
Look no further than Dov Hikind, the one who promotes this type of reaction. Does ANYONE respect him for it? Has his method helped IN ANY WAY?!

    • I think she did the correct thing.
Ignore it, because nothing happened. Report it, so that they can be found and have a “record” of a hate crime, so that if anything comes up Ch”V again they will already have a history.
      Thats standing up for yourself

  2. It has happened to me numerous times at the intersection of County Line and Squankum, alot people passing through from outside towns stopping at Wawa. I wish there would be more of a Police presence, especially Friday night…

  4. There’s no doubt that anti semitism is happening more and more often in the last few years. But not all anti semitic incidents are equal. People driving by and calling out from their cars or bikes happens all the time for as long as I can remember, and I’m a senior citizen. We always ignored it. Shootings, hostage taking, beatings, shoving are more serious incidents, which should be reported to police and reported in the news.

  5. For those who are saying don’t do anything. You are 10000% wrong. It might start with kids screaming ymach shimo..that just might be the beginning. What happens if they see nothing will happen. Than maybe next time it’s an object being thrown out the window. Or maybe something even worse.

I am not saying get revenge but calling the police is the right thing to do. Follow up a few days later to see how the investigation is going. If you don’t feel like anything is happening. Go further ask for the capt. And speak with him and so on.

For those that have YouTube watch a movie called THE WAVE A AFTER SCHOOL EXPERIMENT. see how easy it is to corrupt the minds of kids.

I’m not saying every jew a 22 or even a 9mm. No violence but CALL THE POLICE. GET A LICENSE PLATE IF YOU CAN. Make and model of the vehicle. Take down the exact time it happened the police might be able to get home camera footage.

Be proud that you are a yid and stand up don’t be pushed down.

  6. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with obtaining a license plate number of the offending vehicle and promptly reporting it to the police. Maybe they’ll do something about it and maybe they won’t. At least making them aware of the incident, I think, is important.

  7. One time i was driving and I had to make a pit stop to use the bathroom and someone left a note on my vehicle for that I am Spanish and I don’t belong here the person signed the note and I took it the the police and that person got in trouble
