Police ID Man Killed In Fatal Rt. 70 Crash

man-killed-in-crash-rt-70Police have identified 44-year-old Robert Jancewicz as the township resident who died following an early Sunday morning, one-car crash on Route 70, according to a report in the APP. Jancewicz, of 351 Audrey Ave. in the Dover Pines section of Toms River, was traveling west along Route 70 about 12:35 a.m. when his Dodge pick-up truck hit a light pole, killing him instantly, as first reported here on TLS.

A source tells TLS, the driver, who was apparently highly intoxicated at the time, had a history of Drug and Alcohol related charges.

A witness traveling behind the vehicle when the crash occurred tells TLS, the vehicle hit the pole at a speed of approximately 75 mph.
