Meanwhile, homes are being shot up in golfveiw and noone is patrolling the slums on MLK…
who pays the police for there time
It’s the traffic safety unit which doesn’t patrol anyway. Nice try.
Maybe this should be the new way to transport the kids to & from school & avoid the extra expenses for bussing!
Taxes pay all public servants. It is very special of a town to be able to service the community the way the Lakewood Township does.
The Police and the crossing guards escorted kids riding there bikes a few blocks on a sunny day Sargent Work and his staff are always very friendly and helpful Is anyone ever happy in this town.. Oy Vey!!!!!
Excellent answer #3..
To #1 Come on and get real. What municipality would divert their police force to one agenda? That would be a bit unwise, don’t you think?
And for #2, Just perhaps these fine people are doing it for FREE? You know it’s called doing it on their own FREE Time. Did you ever think of that. However, there is also a thing called rearranging the work schedule if need be.
I’m sure the kids had lots of fun.
Before kvetching; does anyone here know they weren’t paid for their service just like officers who direct traffic…on their days off??
and you say you dont get anything for your tax , come on
number 8 i know for a fact that they were paid for this.. for a FACT
To #1: Your priorities are skewed.
Protecting 250 children from imminent danger does indeed rank higher than routinely patrolling a development.
When Lakewood Cheder (who pioneered this trip, by the way) did it the first time and asked the police about it, Traffic Safety INSISTED that they escort the children to prevent anything from happening.
