It seems it wasn’t just a one-time ticketing blitz in downtown. Police yesterday continued to ticket day laborers soliciting work on Clifton Avenue, as well as those attempting to pick up the laborers. In one instance yesterday, police ticketed a solicitor and contractor simultaneously.
Since the crackdown began about 10 days ago, Police Chief Rob Lawson has confirmed that several were ticketed, and was pleased with the enforcement.
And so was the mayor.
Police continue to patrol the area with marked and unmarked vehicles, so you may see them coming, you may not.
Fines for solicitors and for the contractors are the same $250.
The Township designated an ESA (Employment Services Area), which is located in the municipal parking lot between First and Second streets. TLS.

how can u possibly ticket an undocumented worker? the law is totally messed up.
it is laughable that police are giving tickets to illegal aliens.
the key here is to ticket the employers.the correct way should be first offense $50.00, second offense $200.00 and so on until people cannot afford the tickets.

how about this as a solution, round up all the illegals standing around and put a shovel in their hands.
these people are trying to make a buck. Yes, even though they are here illegally. they are trying to feed their families. so take it easy. lets let the tickets be written and people will stop making the mistake of not speaking the language or breaking the law.

this just produces more trash. why would someone undocumented even think of paying a ticket? Or for this matter refrain from doing anything short of major crime that MIGHT end up in deportation! the worst case for them is a free ticket to where they came from and a brief holidays with their familiys back home but this is very rare.
