Police Chief Rob Lawson: 23 Crashes Reported Yesterday, One Of The Highest Numbers Ever

mva pine new hamsphire[File photo] Police Chief Rob Lawson tells TLS that Police responded to 23 Motor Vehicle Accidents yesterday, one of the highest amount of MVAs ever reported for one day. Although the wet roads were an obvious contributing factor, driving habits may have also contributed to the unusually high number.

“People have got to slow down”, says Chief Lawson, “and don’t follow too closely”.

Many of those accidents reported occurred on Route 9, one of the most congested roads in Lakewood.

From those accidents, EMS responded to four of them, EMS Supervisor Scott Carter tells TLS.

The above numbers represent only those which were reported to the Police.

  1. lets make it clear that wet weather was not the contributing factor. POOR driving was the contributing factor, which gets magnified by the wet weather. Anyone who practiced safe driving did not get involved in an MVA due to the wet weather. Obviously there are exceptions, but for the most part, what I am saying is highly accurate.

  2. I was driving all over the place yesterday and didn’t have one accident! But I didn’t attend the Skillful Driving School either. So maybe that saved me. How many people who had accidents went to driving school? Raise your hands.

  3. I live near a major intersection and I hear skidding tires all the the time in this weather. People drive too fast to stop safely. If you know an intersection is coming up and the light turns yellow, slow down and don’t try to make the light!

  4. let me tell you if your an a accident with a frum yid who admits he’s at fault and you call the cops anyways you can cost that yid 800 dollars plus just think before u call the cops it happened to me and im still paying your insurance goes up etc.

  5. Well…this is not a surprise at all! Here’s a message to Police Chief Rob Lawson; Let start with enforcing the laws.

#1- Talking on cell phones while driving (EVERYONE IS ON ONE).

    #2-Speeding.

    #3- Illegal passing.

#4-Failure to stop at red lights or stop signs.

    #5-Double parking in town.

Let’s just start with these. I’ve been complaining for a long time about the speeding and cell ph issues.

Laws are put in place for reason. There intent is to keep everyone safe. I’d say Lakewood Has failed terribly in this area among others. Wouldn’t you say? This doesn’t look very good.

    ENFORCE THE LAWS LAKEWOOD!!!

  6. Talking on your cell phone while driving is called multi tasking, which is good.

Speeding while talking on your cell phone is called exceptional multi tasking which is very good.

Eating while speeding while talking to your wife on your cell phone is called superb multi tasking in challenging environments and it means you are truly talented.

Eating while speeding while talking to your wife on your cell phone and cutting off your neighbor is called a super multi tasker who deserves a special medal.

Drive fast and never look around you..

  7. I completely agree #11. Thank you and well said!!!

Get off your phones, observe signs and signals and also use your headlights in bad weather!!!!!!
