Police Chief Greg Meyer: Don’t block the box

chief-meyer-tls2-2Police Chief Greg Meyer is reminding drivers to respect the box at intersections in Lakewood.

“Not only does it stop traffic from flowing in both directions, but it keeps emergency vehicles from getting to where they have to go,” Chief Meyer said.

Multiple boxes were painted at several intersections around Lakewood in recent years, including on Clifton Avenue, Route 9, New Hampshire Avenue and other busy roads.

Blocking the box could result in a fine.

TO TLS – don’t know why you didn’t post my statement. I just hope no one gets hurt or worst at that corner. Try driving out of that intersection if your in this/my area. It’s impossible. Scary when you have children in your car. They need a crossing guard or a light. Our taxes are so high here and you can not get our of your own development.
