Police Checkpoint On Route 9

Notice. Because common sense isn’t always so common, The Lakewood Scoop would like to give you a friendly reminder. If you talk on your handheld while driving, or have a habit of not wearing a seat belt, you will get a ticket. If you’re heading down Route 9 anytime today, as always, make sure you have a seat belt on and you’re not talking on your cell phone. Police have set up a checkpoint at Prospect St and Route 9 and are giving tickets for the above violations. Just this past Friday, The Lakewood Scoop posted a similar notice regarding a checkpoint on Squankum. The Lakewood Scoop has also recently posted an article which was sent to us from the Lakewood Police Department, reminding everyone about the Click-It-Or-Ticket campaign which is to begin on the 18th of May.
