POLICE have just arrested three men after they were caught sitting in a stolen vehicle, sources tell TLS. An officer patrolling the area of Dewey Street with his ALPR patrol car was alerted by the system after it recognized the stolen vehicle, which was stolen out of Jersey City. The officer approached the vehicle and noticed three men sitting in it, and called for backup.
Moments later, the three men – from Lakewood – were placed under arrest.
The vehicle was impounded.
The ALPR, (Automatic License Plate Recognition) vehicle enables the comparison of vehicle license plates against a nation-wide database of stolen vehicles and wanted persons. The system uses a combination of cameras, optical character recognition technology and computer processors to “read” license plates and alert the officer to the presence of an offenders’ vehicle. Within seconds, the dual color and infrared cameras capture the license plate image and compare it to the daily updated database. The officer is alerted with an audible tone and color picture of the vehicle marked with the date, time and GPS coordinates of the contact. TLS.

is there any way you could describe the device so EVERYBODY can understand what your saying..!!!
#4 its none of your business what kind of equipment the LPD uses or has. you want to become a cop? take the test like the rest of us!! people are SO NOSEY!!! wow
if your boerd do something useful ahem(#4) dont write DUMB comments
Write whatever you want – who cares. The point is that three subhuman thieves have been caught and will now use up precious tax payer dollars in some “rehabilitation” prison so that they can be released in a year or two to go steal the next vehicle or maybe shoot someone in the head.
I firmly believe that the capitol punishment would inhibit any form of repeat offences!
