PLASMA DONATIONS: Bikur Cholim of Lakewood & Hatzolah partner with local hospital and blood banks to save lives

Bikur Cholim of Lakewood: As blood antibodies of those recovering from Coronavirus are now starting to be given in New Jersey, Bikur Cholim and Hatzolah are partnering with the local hospitals and blood banks to work on this life saving treatment.

As this treatment is quite new, the requirements keep changing. We are staying on top of all updates and will do our best to update you as they change.

At this point these are the guidelines;

*A positive covid test OR a doctor’s note stating that you had a confirmed case of Covid 19
*14 days symptom free

Please fill out this form ONLY if you meet BOTH requirements.

You will receive a confirmation email with the next steps once all your information is processed. Email responses may take up to 24 hours.

We kindly ask you to please refrain from calling in to check on status or if you can change the guidelines. We appreciate the Klal’s dedication, but we are being inundated with calls as we ensure patient care at the same time.

For those with loved ones in the hospital, it will take some time before this treatment is available to the patients. We are advocating non stop to make it available as soon as possible. We will surely keep you posted with any updates.

  1. It is VERY important to check the OXYGEN levels of EVERY person sick with covid-19. (Especially if they have been sick for a few days.) If low oxygen levels are detected EARLY, they can be treated and prevent the situation from becoming very serious ch’v. This must be done even if the person is not showing obvious signs of difficulty breathing. Checking oxygen can be done very easily using a pulse-ox which can be obtained at a pharmacy or bikur-cholim.
