If you’re planning on making a bonfire tonight, here’s what you need to know – in conversation with Lakewood Fire Department Chief Mike D’Elia:
Due to the Covid19 Pandemic all public Lag Ba’Omer burning sites have been canceled.
However, if you’re planning on making a fire, only use a portable, outdoor, solid-fuel-burning fireplace that may be constructed of steel, concrete, clay or other noncombustible material.
Fires in public places are strictly prohibited without acquiring a permit.
Fireplaces (i.e. fire pits, chimneys, charcoal barbecue grill, etc.) shall be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and shall not be placed within 15 feet of a structure (i.e.: house, shed, deck, etc.) or combustible material.
Do not leave barbecue grills unattended and keep children as well as pets away.
Avoid wearing loose fitting clothing when igniting and using a fireplace.
Make sure fireplaces are extinguished before leaving
i thought backyard bonfires were illegal. It is so windy out there now, please be smart
its not realy called a bonfire because its in a fire place or a fire pit
Weird that u weren’t allowed to burn chomets
But go ahead and make a “lag baomer fire”
i think the difference is that only a few people will actually make a fire as opposed to biur chometz wud have been every house in lakewood
People are getting fed up with the Gov.
No one knows what’s legal anymore. LPD just shut down music and dancing in Whispering Pines, and everyone was dancing with their own families by themselves.
