  1. I found this comment on the previous post where the scoop spoke about the Minyan. I found it very emotional and am therefore copying the comment to here. PS to the writer Chazak Ve’ematz – Stay strong!

Even though I was (physically) in yeshiva till about about a year ago, I cant discuss on this public forum – the religious turmoil I’ve been going thru 4 the past few years.
    Yes, I was bar Mitzvahed.
Yes, My parents did love me.
    Yes, My teachers did try.

I am now what people can call an official “yeshiva drop-out”

Since I’ve left yeshiva, I’ve been doing things which I will not discuss here. My life has been constantly heading in a downward direction, untill it got to a point where I started wondering how much longer I can tolerate this boring empty life!

That all changed the first time I met you, Rabbi Abadi. I introduced myself. But, you already knew who I was. You even knew everything I’ve gone thru & what I was up to. You seemed like some sort of “peolpe’s tzaros grand central info. station”.

Although we spoke every now and then, It was still difficult for me to enter a building that has a beis medrash. It was a big step for me the first time i entered Minyan Shelanu.

I cant thank you and all the guys, rabbis, and others who are there. Whenever I come by, they ask me “whats up?’ And I started feeling closer to them — i dont know y.

I feel like they really care for me. I dont know why but thats what I feel.

I think I might wanna start learning a little bit. (I love to watch Benny!)

Rabbi and all you great people at the Minyan I owe you my life! I dont know where i would be without you.
    I dont want to know!

  2. Elimelech: I don’t know you well but the little that I see of you at Mekimi….makes me confident that you deserve this prize all the way!!

    Mazel Tov!

  3. elimeach is my cousin and he deserves it all the way! zeidy and bobby are very proud of you. you should continue to do lots of good things.

  4. The problem is, there are kids who are not yet “yeshiva drop outs” that are drawn to the Minyan, because they believe it’s “cool”. This in turn exposes them to elements they otherwise would not have been exposed to, and causes them to spiral downwards.

  5. to # 7 Joe: What do you suggest that those kids do? If a kid is attracted to the Minyan that means that his current situation (yeshiva) is not providing him with the outlets that he needs so if there is no alternative than he will eventually go to the minyan and yes he may be influenced negativley by those kids. So Joe please help these kids!!!! Where is the in between Yeshiva?

  6. eli rubin is a tzaddik and over the years has spent thousands of dollars of his own money to cheer up our cholim through his organization mekimi. this is hashems way of paying him back for all the good hes done for the lakewood kehilah. keep going strong eli till 120!

  7. I bought a ticket but after seeing the care and the chiyoos that the kids have from R Abadi I am bl’n sending another check to the “Minyan” I shudder to imagine where all these kids would be if not for R Abadi. I rember whne I was learning in BMG yearas ago and we saw these chevra hanging around yeshiva and there was no safety net for them.

I dont know where you hang out, but there are ZERO yeshiva kids hanging at MInyan Shelanu.

Get your facts straight or come check it out for Yourself!

I know because I checked – more than once. (& my cousin is very involved)

PS if you’re a yeshiva bochur, don’t even THINK of stepping in.

    oh…dont forget….VOTE LCSP!!!!!!!!!
