New Central Avenue is closed between Gudz Road and Miller Road following a motor vehicle accident that brought down a utility pole and wires, landing on the car.
The Lakewood Police Department is advising motorists to avoid the area as crews work to make repairs.
No serious injuries were reported in the crash.
The closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period while utility repairs are completed. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and avoid the area.

just a side point… most of your insurance rate is based on YOU not other drivers. They do have an affect but the majority is based on your history, age, car…
No way that severity of that wreckage was from going New Central’s 45mph speed limit , probably close to DOUBLE of that! And 99.9% he or she was distracted!

@mutty. An electric pole like that looks more like a standard line 6-15k to replace and even if higher, this is a lot less significant than medical costs that insurance companies often wind up paying.
More importantly, check your facts please. An accident like that can easily be caused by zero fault of the driver due to another driver (side impact), pedestrian or bike blocking the road unlawfully, etc. to a safe driver driving at normal speeds. If you don’t know fault it’s not a good idea to blame. Leave that to the police on scene.
