PHOTOS: Two were arrested this evening following a Howell police chase that ended in Lakewood, police say.
Lakewood Police were notified by Howell authorities shortly after 6 PM that they were chasing a vehicle Southbound on Route 9, coming into Lakewood.
Moments later, the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Route 9 and 9th Street and the vehicle’s occupants took off on foot, sources on scene told TLS.
Police officers gave chase, and apprehended the two suspects moments later on 9th Street between Clifton and Madison Avenues, sources say.
The cause for the chase was not immediately available to local authorities.

I was in my car starting to proceed at a green light on intersection of Kennedy and RT 9 when all of a sudden this car comes barreling through his red light coming south on Rt 9. There were several pedestrians already crossing through the crosswalk and miraculously no one got hit. I assumed this chase would end in a crash since the driver paid no attention to his surroundings. I’m so happy to hear that there were no bystander injuries in conclusion of this chase.
Actually BMG guys stopped the perps.

To all you skeptics why is it so outlandish that BMG guys helped out in taking him down?? It’s not taking credit from the police it’s just giving credit to some other helpers that’s all. It’s very believable if you ask me. If they claim they saw it I believe them.

Actually I was standing right next to the howell cop and he was telling the perp. What were u thinking that u were gonna get away if u come to this area we should give all these people cuffs so that’s true about BMG

i was there facts r like this: there was no crash they parked the car on sidewalk and ran off, the cops were about to drive right by and amazingly some quick thinking bmg guys flagged down the cops and showed them where the two ladies!! yes ladies that had ran from the car had gone!! the officers thanked everybody profusely and even admitted that it was drug related!!
