To Yechiel: We actually thought it was a whale, but seeing the rabbit resemblance now that you mention it.
No, Whales would be seen on Squankum Road anytime it rains and floods the road.

Standard Red Fox. Get used to seeing them since most of their habitat is being destroyed for Duplexes.
Red foxes are common in the Jersey Shore area especially in and around Island Beach State park (around 40 minutes from LKWD) They are a natural predator-so please respect them and do not approach them and keep a safe distance.
