Special children from the Special Children’s Center today unexpectedly showed up at the Inspection Department with letters.
The letters, personalized with the children’s artwork, were intended to thank the Inspection Department for their efficiency in processing the necessary paper work allowing the Center to occupy the new space on their campus.
“It was very touching,” said Director Mike Saccomanno.
Mayor Albert Akerman, the liaison to the Department, happened to be in the office when the children came in, and joined in for a photo as they accepted the warm letters.

They are special – beautiful children and beautiful art. Good news for a change.
The Center is an unbelievable organization. Their genuine dedication to the special children for whom they take care of every day is completely and purely for Chesed. The wonder-women of this special needs school are not in it for the money, but strictly to make sure special children and their families are cared for. A Chesed organization which should be emulated by all!
I would venture to say, MIke Saccamamo has helped more institutions in this town that anyone else on the planet. He’s firm & strict but fair & understanding as well. He bends over backwards to help schools get their COs in a timely manner all the while not compromising an iota when it comes to code or safety. And I’m not even in middle of a construction project !! Way to go, MIke !!
My son attends Center and the work they do is unbelievable. They are so caring and loving. The word no is not in their vocabulary – they just keep giving and giving and never stop!!!!
My daughter goes to Center on most Sundays & I occassionally volunteer there to play music – it is an incredible school with incredible staff. Mrs. Reichman is an amazing indefatiguable force behind the whole operation. I also agree w/ Mr Chizzuk 100%. Inspector Mike is a great guy who helps every one while staying true to his job. Lakewood Twsp is lucky to have him working with us for all these years.
The Center is such an amazing school. The teachers and entire staff care so much for each and every child. May Hashem bench you with much hatzlacha! Thank you so much for all you do.
