A daycare center in Lakewood was evacuated this afternoon due to a smoke condition in the building, officials said.
A general alarm was sounded shortly before 3 PM, summoning all of Lakewood’s fire stations upon reports of flames at the James Street building.
Lakewood First Aid and Hatzolah also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, no flames were showing, but there was reportedly a smoke condition coming from heating systems roof.
Nobody was injured, and the children were transported to another location.
