Last night, SWC launched its Northeast Regional Advisory Board, bringing together a wide spectrum of next generation leadership to significantly broaden and enhance the reach, scope and impact of the institutions efforts in the region.

The board held its inaugural meeting in the board room of SWC’s new downtown Manhattan office where regional operations will move into shortly after the new year also lending to an expansion of the Center’s regional footprint.

“We were honored that SWC Executive Director Rabbi Meyer H. May flew in from Wiesenthal headquarters on the West Coast to participate in the meeting,” SWC said. Also in attendance was SWC Board Trustee Marc Utay along with SWC regional representation in NYC and NYS government, Jon R. Del Giorno of Pitta Bishop Del Giorno LLP.

“I was so inspired to see the level of passion and commitment each of the members brought to this new Advisory Board,” said Rabbi Meyer H. May, who flew in from Los Angeles to meet the new board members. “There is no doubt that new lay leadership is key to the long term success of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. Each of these leaders are game changers who can each and collectively propel the Center’s Eastern Region to meet its fullest potential.”

“This board represents an incredible collection of first rate talent, all dedicated and passionate about the need to both immediately grow our capacity for combating anti-Semitism and hate while also looking to serve as a very necessary platform for a new generation of serious Jewish communal leaders to thrive. We are so proud to have the privilege of their cumulative expertise, and the sincerity of their want to play a true roll in a call for larger communal action during these trying times,” said SWC Eastern Director Michael Cohen.

This critical new board’s inaugural members include: Joshua Agus, Agus Holdings; Eric Aroesty; Samuel M. Ashner, Winthrop Capital Partners; Stephanie Knepper Basman, SKA Marin; Gil Cygler, Cygler Warren Street Corporation; Matthew Dunn, Kramer Levin; Scott Herschmann, Pentsao Advisors; Leor Hofman, Insignia Acquisitions; Aaron Jungreis, Rosewood Realty Group; Yaron Kornblum, Rivkin Radler; David Lubin, Clairmont Group; Chanie Milworn, Agus Holdings; Sarah Russell, NEI Group; David Schwartz, Gotham Government Relations and Communications; Gabriel Simony, GM Photo; Jack Simony; Eli Tabak, The Bluestone Group; Debra Tantleff, Tantum Real Estate; and Avner Vider.

“These efforts are possible because of a team of researchers and staff at the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and with your support we will continue to educate communities about the Holocaust and how those lessons apply today, and continue to speak out against anti-Semitism and hate around the world,” the SWC said.
