PHOTOS: Senator Robert Singer, Assemblyman Ned Thomson visit SCHI

Senator Robert Singer and Assemblyman Ned Thomson visited SCHI this week.

The Assemblyman and Senator have been working with Congressman Smith’s office to get SCHI $380,000 in funding from the federal government for wheelchair accessible playground safety upgrades. The Assemblyman has also introduced legislation to allow schools to use security categorical aid to hire school security personnel.

“SCHI is a wonderful school full of wonderful children,” said Thomson. “As a legislator, it is my privilege to do everything in my power to help places like this grow and flourish. The services that SCHI provides in the community are inspiring, and helping them provide those services to as many children in the community as possible is one of the most rewarding parts of being a public servant.”

“It was a pleasure visiting the SCHI school and seeing the extraordinary work they do on a daily basis,” Senator Singer stated. “The programs that they have for the children is truly amazing, as well as the staff. I will continue to support the SCHI school as they go above and beyond in making sure the children have every opportunity to enjoy life.”
