  1. Can’t anyone in the road department work out a better time to do projects such as these?!
There was no way around the closures & Oberlin has schools & businesses galore!

  2. who would approve repaving a road that is the only access to how many schools on the block / needs access to? (ie vasser as well) on a SCHOOL DAY?!?! ANY TIME ON A SCHOOL DAY??!?!!? how can this be prevented from occurring again?

  3. Comment #1 is head on. Yes today it was exasperated because of paving. But why are we forced to sit and sit every regular morning ? Are our, the common man in Lakewood, needs being taken into account when the town planning is being done?

  4. Why not plan NOW to do ALL these roadwork and repair jobs on Rosh Hashanah and Succos? Is there anyone in the drivers seat making these decisions??
This town is a major traffic nightmare in general. It is a result of no planning.

  5. btw: aside from the “logical” idea to do a major through-fare with so many schools would be to do at NIGHT, in 3 weeks time, there will be no school for almost 2 whole weeks! PLANNING ANYONE?

  6. All it is is being self centered. Rude and despicable of the township to do that. 2 month with no schools open in the area is not enough time to do this. They have to do it on a busy school day. Try closing the street that the public school on a school day. It took me 2 hours to get thru.

  7. It’s not just this mornings irrationality alone that drives us residents crazy, it’s the constant morning hour construction and 1 lane closures on a regular basis through some of the most conjested roads in town that are infuriating. Cross St, Prospect, Avenue of States, Cedarbridge… And the list goes on. Of course work must get done but use some strategic planning and timing to avoid this chaos!

  8. This work is actually being carried out by county crews, so it can only be assumed that it’s not as simple to change their schedules. An effort should still be made, but it’s not for sure in the hands of our township’s officials.

  9. How much is it going to cost taxpayers now that it hadta b stopped and restarted?!?? That $ should come out if whoever planned and approved this job!!
