PHOTOS: PBA, FMBA Among Officials at ‘Read Across America’ Events in Lakewood Schools

dr seussPolice officers from the PBA and firefighters from the FMBA joined school officials and high school students in reading to student in Lakewood schools in honor of Read Across America day.

Read Across America coincides with what would have been Dr. Seuss’s 112th birthday. Dr. Seuss, is a pen name for Theodor Seuss Geisel, born on March 2, 1904.

Approximately 4,000 Lakewood students between first-fifth grades and approximately 250 volunteers  took part in today’s events.

The children all received Dr. Seuss bookmarks donated by the Lakewood Education Association, and the volunteers will be treated to a lunch at the Eagle Ridge.
