By T.H. The excited crowd of over 125 participants enjoyed a great time while showing support for an important cause at the Bike4Shalom registration event this past Sunday.

The event held at the home of Rabbi Nachman Greenwald, executive director of Shalom, and hosted by Shmuel Lubin and Eliyohu Zaks, was a sight to see. Ranging from 8 years old up through 65+ years old, there was one mission on this evening, to impact Jewish generations.

A Shalom staff member was approached by an 8 year old boy at the event with an innocent question, “Can you explain to me how the money I raise will have an effect on these pure Neshamos; I want to know what I am accomplishing by joining the Bike4Shalom?” The staff member sat down with the boy and explained to him how there are children who are not so fortunate as to know about Shabbos, Kashrus, and Yiddishkeit. He asked the boy “How would you feel if you were to see a Jewish boy your age walk into Mc Donalds and eat a cheeseburger; what would go through your mind if you saw such a sight, and what wouldn’t you do to help him?” “How would you feel if you saw a Jewish boy your age walk into a public school and not be taught about the Pesach Seder?” At Shalom we rescue these pure Neshamos that are often lost with no where to turn. Our excellent staff scoops them up with warmth, care, and love. We shower them with a full education of Yiddishkeit and show them the warmth of a Torah life.
