By R.M. Over 70 Chai Lifeline Camp Simcha warriors and their counselors from across NY, NJ and PA enjoyed an unforgettable weekend hosted by the Edison/Highland Park community this past Shabbos.
From the inspiring Kabbalas Shabbos led by Eitan Katz to the rocking Melava Malka, the boys were busy from the moment they arrived until they packed their bags. The Shabbos meals were joined by community teens, who pumped up the atmosphere with their singing and dancing. Inspiring speeches had the room in tears as the campers shared their personal struggles and the impact of support from Chai Lifeline and from their peers. Fun games and activities kept the boys smiling all throughout the day. Melava Malka featured delicious food, popcorn, cotton candy, a photo booth where the boys could print out their favorite poses, loads of prizes, and of course, exciting singing and dancing as well as a kumzitz led by Eitan Katz. The boys returned home with huge smiles and warm memories to accompany them through the cold winter.
Thanks to the Committee for pulling off an incredible weekend! Thank you to the sponsors who made it possible. Thank you to the hosts who graciously opened their homes. And thank you to the wonderful teens of Raritan Valley for welcoming the boys and creating everlasting friendships!
