PHOTOS: Over $15,000 in Cash, Jewelry Stolen in String of Burglaries; Yeshivah Vandalized

burg1Authorities are investigating a string of burglaries that occurred in Lakewood over the weekend, police confirmed to TLS.

Five burglaries were reported over October 17 and 18, and police belive at least two of them may have been committed by the same burglar or burglars.

In one incident, a JCP&L substation on Faraday Avenue fence was cut through, and copper was stolen.

In another incident, an Ocean Avenue home’s window air condition unit was pushed in, and the burglar(s) made off with a TV and other electronics.

Two homes in another area were burglarized while the residents were away for the weekend, and the burglar(s) made off with approximately $6,000 in cash and about $10,000 in jewelry.

The fifth incident involved a Yeshivah, which left the building heavily vandalized (pictured).

burg 2Police say the two homes burglarized while the owners were away show very similar characteristics to previous burglaries in which a combined $1,000,000 plus in proceeds were stolen.

Police have not said if they have any leads in the case.
