Yesterday, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, Lieutenant Colonel Wayne Korte, and Major Brian Polite, met with Jewish faith leaders to discuss rising hate crimes and enhanced security ahead of the upcoming Passover holiday, which starts on the evening of April 15th and continues through April 23rd.

The meeting was coordinated by New Jersey State Police Chaplain Rabbi Abe Friedman, who thanked Colonel Callahan and his team for their leadership and continued support. Those sentiments were echoed by those present which included Eli Katz, deputy mayor of Teaneck, Menashe Miller, deputy mayor of Lakewood, Rabbi Avi Schnall, director of the New Jersey office of Agudath Israel of America, Meir Lichtenstein, Lakewood committeeman, Rabbi Avi Richler, executive director of Chabad of Gloucester and Rabbi Yehiel Kalish, CEO of Chevra Hatzalah.

It was a productive meeting for the religious and community leaders in attendance who had the opportunity to expand upon the working dialog with the Colonel and his staff.
