A brand-new playground has opened at Patriots Park on Bowman Road in Jackson, marking a major improvement for local families and a sign of growing investment in the township.
For years, Jackson Township received limited attention from the county when it came to community improvement projects. That trend has recently begun to shift, thanks to a renewed focus on county collaboration by local leadership.
The new playground was made possible through persistent efforts by Council Vice President Mordechai Burnstein, who worked closely with county officials to ensure the aging equipment at Patriots Park was included in the county’s broader recreational upgrade initiatives.
“This is the result of consistent communication and advocacy,” a township official said. “Councilman Burnstein made sure our needs were on the county’s radar.”
Officials say Jackson’s strengthened relationship with the Ocean County Board of Commissioners is already delivering results — not just in parks and recreation, but also in areas like road improvements and traffic safety.
The project reflects a growing effort to ensure Jackson receives its fair share of county tax dollars and resources.
