A new ‘Immediate Care Center’ has opened its doors in Lakewood so you no longer have to wait for a doctor appointment. Located in the former Shop Rite plaza, the Center offers board-certified medical practitioners to tend to individuals 12 and older who have minor illness or injury.
The center, under the direction of Dr. Allen Lempel, is open for walk-ins from 9am-10pm Sunday-Thursday, and will have adjusted schedules for Friday and Motzei Shabbos.
“We’re very excited to bring this service to the Lakewood community,” says Nissim Menashy, PA-C, for the center. “With waiting rooms often filled to capacity, many patients have long waits in physician offices for ailments that can be treated efficiently and quickly by our staff.”
“Most major insurances are accepted, and for those without insurance, the rates for exams and treatment are very reasonable,” the office said. For more information you can call 732-987-6151.
looks really nice. Hope I don’t need their services but if I do I will give them a try. Beats waiting to get an appointment.
Walked in yesterday when my doctor wasn’t available. So happy I did! Staff was courteous and professional and I was in and out! No waiting. No long lines. Not wishing anyone to get sick but if you do its def worth checking it out.
Do they also do regular doctor visits?
If evry 1 gose there how will the lines still b short??
No lines YET. Any good business or service becomes crowded quickly in Lakewood.
how does it work with insurance since it is not your PCP?
to # 6. IF your insurance requires you to designate a PCP then we can call them while you are here to change your PCP to us JUST FOR THIS VISIT. We Have spoken to a number of insurance providers and they have said it’s fine to do this.
to #4 and # 5. The nature of our center is to see people for acute illness or minor injury. A sick visit usually is a lot quicker than when a doctor is seeing one of his patients with multiple problems and a long list of medications. So very often you are sitting in a PCP office and the DR is in with a patient who needs a significant amount of time. We will not be seeing those types of patients and the turn around time should be quicker.
to # 3. what do you mean by a ‘regular Dr. visit’?
to # 2 and # 1. Thank you !
Also keep in mind that you can call us to determine how many people are here and if it’s not busy you can come by immediately.
Anon it is charged as an emergency room/urgent care visit. It is usually more of a copay
It is not an official urgent care. The same copay you have at your pcp you will have when going to lakewood immediate care
to # 8. it is NOT charged as an emergency room visit. It is charged as a regular doctors office visit and your copay is charged accordingly.
Congrats to my talented friend Muti Feldbrand from Feldbrand designs who did the architectural plans. Great job!
Do they take medicare and plan b insurances for seniors?
What if I would need medicine? Can you call it in to a pharmacy for me?
to # 13. After your exam your medication CAN be called in to the pharmacy of your choice.
How much is a visit if you don’t have insurance?
finally a place where you can go without an appt. if you need to see a dr. I wont mention the place but they have a rule that you Cant make an appt one day for the next {only able to call on a geiven day for that day. You can call at EXACTLy 915 am. well you are not the only person doing that I tried one am 39 times and constantly got a busy signal{ who has that anymore in this day and age} when I finally called about 945 and got thru there were no more appts. for that day. Now they have a new method where you can text them 9 am thru 4pm for an appt. and first come first serve. that too is not great. hatzlacha raba to this new place.
