Yeshiva Toras Chesed is making a strong impact as it begins meeting the needs of Lakewood’s rapidly growing community. With local birth records showing a sharp increase in boys entering Primary for the 2025–2026 school year, the Yeshiva is already positioning itself as Lakewood’s next premier cheder.
Located in the beautifully renovated ChaiCare building at 400 New Hampshire Avenue, the Yeshiva offers both convenience and a state-of-the-art setting for its talmidim. Yeshiva Toras Chesed is under the direct guidance of Horav Henoch Shachar, Shlita, a respected leader in Lakewood’s chinuch scene. The Menahel, Rabbi Simcha Weisz, together with Primary Rebbe, Rabbi Avrohom Magid, are both widely recognized as experienced and talented mechanchim.
This carefully built team has quickly gained the trust of parents, many of whom are enthusiastic to share their positive experiences with other families seeking a premier alternative to established mosdos—especially in light of the ongoing strain on existing infrastructure to keep up with Lakewood’s growth.
The Yeshiva emphasizes a warm, positive, and empowering atmosphere, with a well-designed curriculum and a strong focus on each child’s individual development. Parents describe a sense of excitement and gratitude, noting how their children are thriving in the environment Yeshiva Toras Chesed has created.
Word of the Yeshiva’s success, along with its central location, has generated significant buzz throughout the community.

Shkoiach! What about girl’s school?
Be the change you want to see!
Good Kashye
What crowd type are they looking for and what type are the current parents of the primary.
Good types
Jews!!
Unhelpful response, let’s not make believe that every school is like the oot community wide schools, that wants every type of the lakewood community, it’s a system of smaller schools catering to specific crowds. Not every school is a good fit for every kid, and vise versa.
from what i heard directly from them they got an orchos chaim crowd and are happy with that.
Jewish and religious.
Federal Informant thank you for being an agent of the obvious. I hope federal informant’s are more insightful than that.
The Yeshivah is different than other yeshivahs in that they’re looking beyond what’s skin deep, to people with likeminded values. They’re open to Ashkenazi, Sefardi, maybe even Heimish—not just straight Litvish. The parent body looks diverse.
The school doesn’t have a standard for measurement on sheitels or whether the fathers wear polo shirts, colored or black and white. What unites us is a good frum mindset and not specific appearances.
I guess Federal Informant is not too far off. They’re not just looking for anyone but nice and frum is a good start 😉
Thank you for answering my question!
Sure!
Kudos to the Menahel, Rabbi Weisz, for stepping up to the plate and opening this new school! Lakewood needs more schools to accommodate the tremendous growth that we see in all the surrounding towns.
Hatzlocha Rabbah!
Did chaiCare close?
According to an article on TLS on July 15, they are temporarily closed and hope to reopen
The most wonderful school. My son goes there. Solid, encouraging, and truly inspiring! Built on smart values and a lot of love. A teacher for elementary-aged boys for 8 years, I’m truly impressed!!
As a parent who sends to this yeshiva, we were at bit nervous at first to send to a new school. We are actually truly impressed and blown away with the high level of professionalism, warmth, chinuch and positivity they give over to the boys. It is very very well run!! The parent body is mixed this year, but that happens with mostly any new school. The schools standards for families they are looking to have are the same as any normal boys school in Lakewood.
We were hesitant at first to send to a new yeshiva. B’h, our son loves every moment in the yeshiva. As parents, we appreciate the warmth that the staff gives to each talmid.
I live in New York and my son had Rabbi Weisz as his 7th grade rebbe in Kamenitz in Flatbush. Our family can only say the most positive and nicest things about Rabbi Weisz. He is a master mechanich who truly cares for every single student. Brooklyn’s loss is Lakewood’s gain…
