By M.M. On Sunday October 18, over 500 people joined Minyan Shelanu at Raceway Park for their Second annual Xtreme Runner mud run event.
Despite the wind and the cold, the runners geared up to conquer the xtreme obstacle challenge. Runners warmed up with trainer Don Allarde from The Gym of Lakewood. They climbed, crawled, jumped and trudged through mud in a race to make it to the finish line. Family and friends enjoyed inflatable fun, face painting, & music as they anxiously waited at the finish line for the runners to return. All runners received a Xtreme Runner medal to celebrate their completion of the XTREME challenge.
Although the runners returned muddy, bruised and battered they all have a great sense of accomplishment as well as bragging rights for having conquered the challenge.
The first place winner was Eli Shain with a time of 29.36, followed by Yishai Natan with a time of 30.24. Yaakov Weinstein came in third at 31.18. Over $150,000 was raised for Minyan Shelanu with the two top fundraisers receiving a ticket to Israel. The dedication and involvement of all the sponsors & Runners is what makes an event of this caliber a great success!

This is a great organization and a great cause. With all that’s written about it, it remains difficult to describe. I urge you, stop by one night, any night at The Minyan, between 9:00 & 10:00 see the boys, see the ruach ,see the joy. It’s amazing. What R Chaim & his staff have accomplished is truly remarkable.
