PHOTOS: Life and Legacy of MLK Celebrated in Lakewood

PHOTOS: Mayor Albert Akerman and Deputy Mayor Steven Langert joined over 100 people today in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.

At the event – themed ‘Bridging the Gap – hosted by the Lakewood Clergy Association, attendees heard about the legacy of the historic figure, and enjoyed vocalists who memorialized this day. 

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor on behalf of the Township Committee then honored the Lakewood Clergy Association for their great work they perform in the community, following in the footsteps of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.

The officials also accepted certificates from the Association thanking them and the many organizations throughout the town for their efforts during the recent Hurricane and storm.
