A Lakewood home was saved, thanks to the quick response by the Lakewood Fire Department.
At about 3:20 AM this morning, the Lakewood Fire Department received a call about flames inside an Albert Avenue home, and upon arrival found a heavy smoke condition on the second floor.
The fire was contained within minutes.
Point Pleasant and Jackson Fire Departments were called for mutual aid, but were cancelled when the fire was brought under control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It is great that the fire Dept was able to knock down this fire right away, however in this Albert neighborhood there are no fire hydrants, there are many trees and many large new homes. This is a pretty scary setup.
Ironically, there is a lot of water in the neighborhood which is flooding many homes. Along with a proper drainage plan, hydrants should be placed.
