Possibly the oldest woman in New Jersey, Launa Mitchell yesterday celebrated her 110th birthday!
She was born in 1913 in Long Island, New York but spent most of her adult life in California. In her more than a century of life, Launa has experienced the Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement and most recently the pandemic.
Launa lives at the Five Star Senior Living Community Leisure Park in Lakewood.
Her secret? She tries to stay active when she can & eats well. She loves sweets, especially vanilla ice cream.
Happy Birthday
Her secret?? I find it really annoying when people ask old people ”whats your secret to living to 100?”
Many people have been positive, stayed active and eaten well and most of them did not make it to 110.
There is no secret to living to 110, it is a bracha from Hashem pure and simple.
If you are a Lakewood Yid, Yid. Mazal Tov, you are a master of the obvious.
What are you talking about Reb Yid? The Gemara is full of sages who were asked Bameh Heerachta Yamim, and their responses are full of wisdom. There are ways to be zoicheh to the bracha from Hashem.
@Ploni Almoni
Asking Amoroim with Ruach Hadoesh, in what Z’chus they Zoche vs asking a person these days their secret to old age, as if they discovered the magical equation.
A litttttle bit different don’t you think?
The original commenter said there is no secret. I was just pointing out that there is a secret. I did not say that a person these days is on the same level as the Amoraim.
stop this constant bickering, kids!
Happy Birthday Diego Garcia! I wouldn’t call it bickering. I would call it spirited debate!
Thars incredible!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!
Mabrouck!!!
Usually you wish a person may they live to 120.
What do you say to a person on their 120th birthday?
Have a nice day! 🙂
Biezrat Hashem, I would say to Ms. Mitchell ten years from now, Mabrouck.
