Members of the Lakewood High School Boys baseball team and coaching staff traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico last week to train and compete against high level teams.
Many of the students traveled out of the country for the first time and had the opportunity to not only play at a higher level to prepare them for their High School season, but they also had the experience of bonding with team members and being a part of the Lakewood High School family.
The team members paid their own expenses to travel, while many community members, staff, family and friends assisted with donations.
For many of these students it will be the only time in their lives they have an opportunity to travel and experience this type of team function.
“All of the student athletes represented Lakewood High School and their community with pride and respect!” a coach told TLS.

Congratulations to a fine team..
This is wonderful! So happy that these students had an opportunity to travel and have this experience.
Minot Point: Going to Puerto Rico is not traveling outside the country. You do not need a passport, it’s a US territory.
A great experience and opportunity.
Good luck.
Coach Drumwright takes the team every year. More kids are playing baseball and that is good.
