PHOTOS: Lakewood Fire Foundation Hosts End-of-Summer Appreciation Event

As summer came to an end, the Lakewood Fire Foundation organized a small gathering to express its appreciation for the volunteer and career members, District staff, and their families. This event took place at Engine Company 2’s picnic area and provided a brief respite from the summer heat.

“The “end of summer ice cream cool down” event was a simple yet thoughtful way to recognize the efforts of those who contribute to the Lakewood firefighting community,” the Foundation said. “Special thank yous to Chief Jonathan Yahr and Chief Dave Wolf for opening up the fire house for this event.”

The Foundation added, “The Lakewood Fire Foundation’s commitment to acknowledging its members’ dedication underscores the sense of unity and respect within the firefighting community. As we transition into a new season, this event serves as a reminder of the community’s support and appreciation for those who tirelessly serve and protect.”
