(Via [email protected]) Keren HaKayitz hosted its second annual bike-a-thon at Blue Claws Stadium on Sunday, July 17th.
Keren Hakayitz provides day camp scholarships for families in difficult circumstances.
Hundreds of boys in grades 3 through 8 biked along the special closed-off 1.5 mile route around the stadium. When the boys arrived in their blue bike-a-thon t-shirts, the atmosphere was electric, with lively music and a sense of excitement. Each boy received a backpack, snacks, plenty of drinks, and collected their prize certificates for fabulous prizes in appreciation of the money raised.
After the ride, the boys were treated to a thrilling BMX stunt show.
The boy who collected the most money won a bike, and the boys that biked the most laps won a remote control Lamborghini.
Thanks to the money raised at this event, Keren HaKayitz will be able to make the dream of day camp a reality for Lakewood families in difficult circumstances.
