This past Sunday, a wave of excitement swept through Lakewood as the grand opening of the Kapayim Cabin was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
This new initiative serves as a dedicated haven for children from families grappling with medical crises, offering them a safe and nurturing space to relax, play, and find moments of joy amidst their challenges.
The Kapayim Cabin is designed to cater to the complete needs of the children, with a team of compassionate volunteers providing not only a haven for recreation and rest, but also support for homework, activities and general well-being. The facility boasts a variety of thoughtfully designed spaces, including an arts & crafts room, a library, an exercise room, a play area, a teen lounge, a designated room for ready-made hospital packages, and a kitchen—all intended to foster an environment where children can thrive and experience a sense of normalcy and happiness.
The culmination of months of efforts by Kapayim’s devoted askanim, who worked diligently to secure both the perfect location and necessary funding, the grand opening ceremony included a poignant maamad kevias mezuzah.
The event was graced by the presence of many distinguished Rabbanim from Lakewood, including Ab”d Skulen of Lakewood shlita, Ab”d Rachmistrivka of Oak and Vine shlita, Harav Chaim Meir Roth shlita, Klausenburger Dayan shlita, Harav Moshe Tzvi Danziger shlita, Harav Avraham Yeshaya Freund shlita, and Harav Yehoshua Gelbwachs shlita. These esteemed leaders expressed deep reverence for the significance of the Kapayim Cabin and the profound, positive impact it will have on the kehila.
May we be zoche in receiving the brachos imparted by these Rabbonim, and may we soon be granted the ultimate simcha ofthe rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash.
