The Jackson Township Police Department has officially rolled out a new fleet of patrol vehicles featuring a sleek design and updated color scheme. The change, aimed at reducing costs while maintaining high visibility, marks a significant step forward in the department’s modernization efforts.
According to officials, the decision to move away from the traditional two-tone patrol car design was driven by both budget considerations and functionality. By switching to a single-color scheme and eliminating overhead lights, the department expects to save thousands of dollars.
Visibility, however, remains a top priority. The new vehicles are equipped with strategically placed lighting throughout the body, ensuring officers remain highly noticeable on the road. Each vehicle also proudly displays the department’s “Patriotic Jackson Police” emblem, which stands out prominently against the new design.
In addition to the standard patrol fleet, the department introduced black-on-black tactical-style vehicles for its Traffic Safety Division. These vehicles carry the same modernized lighting package but feature a more subdued appearance.
The department noted that existing two-tone vehicles will remain in use until they are phased out, with the long-term goal of converting the entire fleet to the updated style.
Officials expressed appreciation to Mayor Michael Reina, the Jackson Township Council, and the department’s administration team for supporting the initiative and helping move the agency forward.

Black on Black police vehicles proudly shout, “I am not here to protect & serve. I am here to catch & fine.”
Then don’t break the law
Having visible police cars in areas where people drive to fast is a deterrent.
Slowing people down is safer than giving tickets.
I agree with Danny
No roof lights? Then don’t try to stop me because I won’t know if you are a REAL POLICE vehicle or one of the many PRIVATE vehicles with lots of red & blue flashing lights that you see in the area.
