The Chai Lifeline Lakewood Chanukah party proved to be a roaring success with 170 families enjoying a bit of freedom.
The winter wonderland-themed party included live music by Simcha Leiner and with enthusiastic dancing led by the celebrated Uncle Moshie.
Activities for the children included crafts, decorating doughnuts and a thrilling ride inside a custom built spinning draidle and a phenomenal acrobatic show performed by Cirqutacular Entertainment. A full dinner buffet was served with scrumptious pastries and candy for dessert.
There were over 10,000 toys given out in gift rapped boxes that where distributed to each family at the party and mailed to those who could not attend.
Under the direction of Rabbi Braunstein, the children of Chop built a six foot tall Mosaic Menorah. In accordance to the hospital guidelines the Menorah was made 100 % Class A fire retardant – the only menorah of its kind in the country. This Menorah will be used for the lighting ceremony at the Chop Hospital Chanukah Party.
How do I put this? I do not think that this event is a “roaring success” if you had 170 families attending. Let’s put it in perspective. That makes 170 suffering families. THAT is NOT success. Success is zero families. So, it was great Chesed, dedication and other things. Not a roaring success with 170 families attending. Just my thoughts.
Only HkbH can control how many families will need the services of organizations like Chai Lifeline. But when an organization can reach out to 170 families and put smiles on the faces of hundreds of children at a Chanukah party, that is absolutely a roaring success.
Just wondering if maybe some of those families in the picture may want their privacy.
Concerned- you are nosy and not concerned. Big difference
