PHOTOS: Hundreds Attend Inaugural Chometz Burning in Howell Township

Hundreds of Howell residents today – in a continuous stream – turned out for the inaugural Chometz Burning event, coordinators say.

Similar to the events held in surrounding townships, Howell Township officials arranged for an official Chometz burning site, in order to keep the community safe by having a single central burning location, instead of risking any potential danger by residents making their own fires.

The event was made possible thanks to Howell Township Manager Joe Clark, Howell Township Police Chief John Storrow, Fire Marshal Brian J. Prochnow, and DPW Supervisor Brian Greenfield, who along with their teams ensured all was done in the utmost professional, efficient and safe manner.

The dumpster was graciously sponsored by Moshe Dahari of Wynn’s Bins.

The event took place at Soldier Memorial Park on Lakewood-Farmingdale Road to ensure for a smooth traffic flow in and out of the area.

Chaveirim of CJ was also on hand to assist the attendees.
