PHOTOS: Howell PBA, Volunteers, Deliver Thanksgiving Meals to Nearly 200 Homebound Families

The Howell PBA, along with volunteers, gathered today to organize a Thanksgiving meal distribution to homebound families within the Township.

Led by PBA President Jim Alexander, the officers and volunteers put together bags of containing meals for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The officers then split up into groups and delivered the meals to approximately 170 elderly and homebound residents, so they too can enjoy the holiday.

Anna Ornstein, who has been assisting with PBA activities for approximately 20 years, says the generous support from the community throughout the year makes it possible for them to give back and do activities and events such as these.

  1. Turkeys Who Received Pardon From Biden Say They Haven’t Been Offered A Home Or Room & Board for The Thanksgiving Holiday
Peach and Blossom, two turkeys who received the annual turkey pardon from President Joe Biden on Monday, allege that they haven’t been offered a home and a family to live with in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday because, according to the Turkeys, “Americans refuse to open up their homes to living fowl that can’t be eaten on the Thanksgiving dinner table.”
“How can I offer the pardoned turkeys a permanent residency in my home?” said NJ resident, Eric Fowler. “I just purchased two turkeys from the butcher shop, and my family and I plan on eating them on Thursday. I would love to open up my home to Peach and Blossom, but, if I am not lawfully permitted to eat them, what am I supposed to do with them? How do I keep them entertained? Where are they going to sleep? In the garage?! I don’t think so.”
With the media abuzz over the sad plight of the two homeless turkeys, the WH has gone into full damage control.
“President Biden was told that the two turkeys were innocent of all criminal activity and fowl play,” said WH Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, “hence, as a man of good conscience, he had no choice but to pardon them. Hopefully Peach and Blossom will find a warm and caring family that will accept them into their home, and treat them as one of the family.”
In response to Mr. Biden’s turkey pardon, the Trump team issued a statement on Wednesday lambasting “the blatant miscarriage of justice and the brazen double standard.”
“In typical cruel fashion, President Biden, Jack Smith and the rest of the gang tried to send Mr. Trump to prison,” the Trump team said in the statement, “and then, in typical hypocritical fashion, Mr. Biden shows compassion to a couple of birds, and pardons them?!! Wow! Is that not a blatant miscarriage of justice and a brazen double standard of the first order?!”
Meanwhile, Peach and Blossom told reporters on Wednesday that, if the American people refuse to offer them “a suitable home with a warm and caring family for the Thanksgiving holiday”, they will “sue the United States of America in a court of law.”
“We did not arrive in this country illegally,” Peach told Fox News on Wednesday, “there’s no reason why we should be treated differently than any other US citizen!”
