PHOTOS: At the Funeral for New Jersey State Police Major Jeffrey A. Burke Held in Toms River

A large funeral was held yesterday in Toms River to honor the life and legacy of New Jersey State Police Major Jeffrey A. Burke #5678, Commanding Officer of the Intelligence and Criminal Enterprise Section.

“On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, Major Burke succumbed to a 9/11 related illness he contracted while serving in the line of duty in response to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks” Colonel Patrick J. Callahan said in a statement.

Major Burke was a member of the 118th State Police class and served his entire 26 year career with distinction in the Operations and Investigations Branches.
