PHOTOS: Over 750 Get Tested at Free Health Screening Event

PHOTOS: UPDATED: Over 750 men were tested today during the 6th annual free Community Health Screening event conducted by Hatzolah and Bikur Cholim, a Hatzolah representative told TLS.

The screening included testing for Cholesterol, Glucose, Blood Pressure, Oxygen Saturation and Body Mass Index.

By 5 PM, all 650 Cholesterol strips were gone, Hatzolah says.

Last year, about 500 were tested.

This event took place at the Esther Gerber Auditorium.

I was there at 5pm and they were out of Cholesterol strips which is an important part of the health screening. I can’t understand how that happens!

This event was a fabulous service to the community…yasher koach to both Hatzolah and bikur cholim… I was told by the organizers of the event that supplies for 150 more participants then last year were ordered in anticipation of a larger crowd than last year … Unfortunatly the supplies ran out but that is only indicative of the great response of the community and truly those numbers were unpredictable.. Yasher koach again

it was waiting to happen

1. You can have the test done by your Doc or a Lab company.

Thank you to all the people that spent countless hours organizing this. I know many of the volunteers (hatzolah, bikur cholim or just emts and rns) that dedicated their whole sunday to this.

Thank you to all the devoted volunteers that gave up countless hours of their own to be at this event for the benefit of the tzibbur.
Special thanx to the coordinators and organizations that helped make it a success.

I was extremely impressed by the entire Health Screening. Thank you to the wonderful Hatzalah member who did my testing. He also ran off in middle to literally catch and treat a falling patient who passed out from a blood test! Good catch btw!

I actually saw that too. I want that Hatzalah member on my team playing third base. Really good instincts!
